White people cannot dance and have no rhythm

Even though the fact is different from the rumor, the majority of people say that it is true, it would be true. This is what I think about what stereotype is. The stereotypes are brought to people by media such as TV show, the songs and the movies. Since the majority of those medias is monopolized by white people, I believe that the racial stereotypes are more about minorities such as Asian, Hispanic, and African. For me as minority, sometimes I feel that our images are all controlled by a majority. However, it all depends on how people react to because only “people” can accept and spread the stereotypes. Therefore, there are stereotypes about the majority people that is about white people.

            This stereotype tells that white people cannot dance or has no rhythm. As I mentioned in this blog a lot before, I think it all depends on the each person. Justin Timberlake can sing, rap, beatboxing and dance. Madonna is the goddess of American pop music. Eminem changed the idea of hiphop culture with his amazing rap skills. Justin Bieber became the most famous white kid in decades with his singing and dancing skills. We cannot just say that white people cannot dance or has no rhythm. Apparently some of them cannot, but still we should not assume that what stereotypes is really true. The stereotype is different from truth. That is why it is called stereotypes. If it is true, we call it "TRUTH."

Is Asian really bad at driving?

Japan has a huge vehicle industry all over the world, and their car is so popular and   famous for its high quality. It is the famous that Japanese created the drift which is the special way to turn the curve and it requires the high skills. However, there is a stereotypes about Asian, of course we Japanese are included; Asian cannot drive a car.

This is such an ignorant idea since this stereotype defines all Asian cannot drive well. For me as the international student drives here in Los Angeles, people here is much more terrible at driving if I compare with the driver in Japan.  I don't know about other Asian countries. They may be terrible but probably not. However, I am sure that we Japanese are not that terrible in general speaking.

On the other hand, there is another stereotypes that women cannot drive. Therefore, it all depends on who is driving and it is not about the race or gender.
